Great American Backyard Campout
Posted on June 19, 2012
The National Wildlife Federation will be having their annual Great American Backyard Campout this Saturday, June 23rd. This day is part of their “Be Out There” movement which encourages parents and children to go outdoors and experience nature, be active, healthy, and most important let them be kids.
Being involved is super easy and any neighborhood, community or household can participate. Just put up a tent in your backyard and take your sleeping bags with you. You can even register your campout online for a chance to document your camping adventure and fundraise for NWF. If you do fundraise, any donations received by NWF by July 31, 2012, could make your eligible to receive some neat Fundraising Rewards. It ranges from winning a t-shirt or hat, all the way to the lucky grand prize of meeting celebrity naturalist and media personality, David Mizejewski, for a television appearance in Los Angeles, California, or New York, New York.
We encourage all of The New House communities to participate in this fun event, it could be especially great for our Beaumont neighborhood as a first time event, so if you are a owner of The New House, please be sure to share photos of your campout with us on Facebook.
