How The New House is built.

Unlike typical builders, The New House starts with the 3-D Building Information Modeling system (BIM). Every inch of the house is mapped out in painstaking detail. So we know in advance where every piece goes and exactly how everything fits. We know where every mitre cut will be made, every hole will be drilled, every bit of hardware used – down to a fraction of an inch. No guesswork, no eyeballing, no mistakes.

We then build the important parts of The New House in a precisely controlled environment: wall panels, floor systems, and roof trusses. Using the truest kiln-dried lumber and optical-guided milling techniques, our craftsmen ensure that everything comes together exactly as planned.

The components are then delivered to the property site. There, our dedicated team assembles them on laser-leveled foundations with meticulous care and very little waste.

Why it costs less.

It costs less because it’s more efficient. We call it the “Whole House Assembly,” which is a fancy way of saying we think it through entirely before it leaves the drawing board. So we can account for exactly how much lumber is required. How many feet of wiring it will take. Or how much hardware – down to the nail – is needed to finish the job. And because we control the entire process, from conception to finish build, every house is delivered on time and on budget.

All of which means The New House comes in at a surprisingly low price. Way low.

Good walls make good houses.

Our precision-built wall panels are one reason why The New House is so exceptional. Engineered throughout the house, each wall panel is a perfectly-crafted subframe sheathed in a thick-ply composite, providing exceptional strength and rigidity. (We borrowed the idea from the smart guys who build jet planes.)

A better framing idea hit us like a 2" x 6".

A typical house is framed using 2” x 4” lumber. But there’s nothing typical about The New House. We use 2” x 6” studs on all exterior and plumbing walls to create a stronger, more rigid structure. Plus, those two extra inches allow for more insulation, making The New House quieter and more energy-efficient.

A tankless job, but somebody had to do it.

The New House comes standard with our energy-efficient tankless water heater, which supplies hot water on demand, without the need for a fuel-hogging standing water tank. Less water wasted, less energy consumed, more peace of mind.

Our breathable HVAC is very cool. And warm.

Just like the rest of us, a house needs to breathe. Our “Whole House Fan” system lets The New House do just that, with air circulating throughout the house by way of a powerful (yet very quiet) central fan. The result? Cooler summers, and warmer winters. Cool, huh?

Low VOC carpets and paint. So we can all breathe easier.

Nobody wants to breathe harmful fumes, especially when raising a family. So all our carpets and paints are low VOC (which stands for Volatile Organic Compounds). And all our plumbing fixtures are lead-free. Because your house should be a haven, not a hazard.
